I had WEP turned on for both and was never able to actually establish a connection. Unfortunately, I moved some items on the desk and the adapter got unplugged. After a kernal panic and a restart, I was able to see both base stations in the utility again, but have not been able to establish a connection to either. I can see bases listed in the site survey, but can't connect I've tried turning them off so only one is on at a time too.
The USB adapter isn't broken, because if I plug it into my Dell laptop it works fine and can connect to either base. Okay, for the actual question.. Am I missing something obvious to get a connection? For anyone that has gotten a DWL-G to work, what steps did you take? Additionally, assuming I can get this working again without WEP activated on my access points , is there a trick to getting the connection to work with WEP? I'm surfing using This tip worked wonders!
I got the odd kernel panic too, but I found they don't happen if you plug in and unplug the usb adapter when you're logged in. I've even had to go so far as to manually set the IP address but after I do that once I can switch back to full DHCP and it will connect automatically across reboots until I try to connect to a different wireless network. Got mine working! Install the proper driver as mentioned above. I couldnt get mine to work, but it picks up the network etc..

Are you able to give a more descriptive detail how you got yours to connect to network? I got the G working nicely on the PC so i know its not faulty. This is the best tip ever! It works great - even gets better link percentage than on windows with d-link software. I bet a bunch of people are buying this thing off Amazon after it was plugged on kk. They wrote back and said that it was not a Mac-compatible product.
When I get home I will definitely try the Rad driver's mentioned above and pray. I just bought mine too: Does anyone have any idea how can I fix it? Has anyone tried to use this driver? Every report I found concerning this version of the Driver with this specific dongle and WEP enabled was the same: You can connect to the base station, but no Internet! Even though you can see the Airport slot in the Dual Core system there are no rails to support it and the Antenna wire doesn't fit the Airport Extreme card.

Buying the DLink is a much better, cheaper, and safer alternative. The driver that work is the driver for OS Hope this help. I got a G3 ibook very cheapily at the end of Apple's PowerPc era. I realized though, that buying an airport card would kill the concept of getting a computer so cheaply. It took me awhile to figure this out, but to install it you have to be in the ROOT account.
