Cut and pasting on a mac
I found Quicksilver to do an amazing jog on file management keystrokes. Try it. Thank you for taking the time to share this useful information. Now, waiting for that snap window feature…. Sadly, TotalFinder will not be compatible with El Capitan, forcing me to look for alternatives. It is really a question of compatibility.
I use Mac, ubuntu, mintoOS, and sometimes even windoze. The terms for file cut and paste are from Windows but the feature works the same on the Mac.

Should have seen this earlier. For a single combo keystroke you would need to setup an Automator action to perform the copy behavior and then define a destination folder for where to paste. After copying the item, you can simply right click while holding the option key and "Paste Item" changes to "Move Item Here". I find this much easer than trying to push all three keys with one hand, as I think many would do following this hint. Is there any reason why it isn't working at all for me?
Do I need to set something special to enable it? So this copies the files just as one would expect, but for me it does not move them. I still have to go back on delete them.
