As far a I seek for information, can't find any serious answer about when either apple or avid will fix it. Otherwise you need to download Yosemite again and re-install it by either erasing your El Capitan install or installing on an external disk.. It is my personal belief the issue is mostly on Apple's side of the fence since there are complaints of MIDI devices being broken all over the place, not specific to MBOX2. How do i manually delete the Oct 21, I was actually thinking of doing this same thing. What kind of hard drive is it running off of? Are there specs I should look for so it can run smoothly? Note I am command line savvy so I used the terminal. You'll need to use SUDO to run some of the commands. I am crossing my fingers that It is out today and supposedly has fixes for Audio Plug Ins not functioning..

Nothing special about it. I record my tracks onto a separate firewire disk. After I created the installer on the disk, I rebooted onto that disk and just installed Yosemite. The only gotcha I had was that it was not initially recognized when holding down the option key. I bought a used mbox 2 mini audio interface. Aside from the cool sticker on it, it was just like new. It's in great shape, records clear vocals with my ancient condensor mic, and I got a great deal on it. As their first customer, they got my order a few hours late and compensated by adding a treat in the box.

Some stride gum, so now my artists breath don't stink up my spit guard. Thanks guys, I wish you well with the business! What else ya got!? I couldn't ask for better audio fidelity from this device, but after I installed the drivers--which took several hours of Internet research, to make sure I had the right ones, as the documentation is bad when it exists--my computer began to show a Blue Screen of Death about once per day. Sometimes, rather than show the BSOD, it will just hang indefinitely. Either way, it's pretty inconvenient, and if you're doing anything live, it'll probably be a deal-breaker.

I consider myself an amateur at audio recording but not new to it. The M-box 2 mini is awesome. First off, the build quality of the unit is exceptional. Knobs are smooth. Jacks are solid. I won't go into specs or features, as you can read about them everywhere. Sound quality is excellent connecting mid-range AKG and Sennheiser studio mics. Haven't connected any instruments to it, as I use it primarily for vocals.

Now what can i say about Pro tools that haven't already been said? The cost is well worth the program itself, and the extra included plugins. This is my first experience with PT and now it is my audio studio of choice. If you are new to audio recording software this is a pretty steep learning curve for starters.

I also recommend going to other websites and downloading the trial versions to familiarize yourself and to get an idea of what you are getting into. Note about my installation experience: After some research on Digidesign's support sites, it seems the problem is with MS Explorer 8 update. After following instructions to uninstall Explorer 8 and rollback to Explorer 7 everything worked just fine.

Truly a pro product, great support, great resources online. I see why it is an industry standard. It worked for about 20 minutes and then stopped. I returned it for the Mbox Mini 3, which has worked great. Great Sounding Module. Great for recording digital audio on your computer. I was using an eagle tone mic and no preamp and still got a preddy good sound out of the mbox, protools on this was easy to use, only problem i had was it not being compatible with my windows 64 bit vista or my windows 7 OS even on xp mode, had to buy a whole new computer with xp.

I bought this Mbox for my boyfriend for his birthday and he loved it! It's something he's been wanting for the longest and he was pleased with it! The price was decent and it shipped pretty quick! No problems so far, so overall it was a great purchase. If you're getting it as a present, make sure it's exactly what they want and it's compatiable with whatever they have!
