Carl B. It is 2. Getting smarter thanks to all of you. Much appreciated. It crashed or "app unexpectedly quit" at eric's settings? I was smoked by both of ya. What are the main factors. I had hoped mine would compare closer to eric's scores. FPS Older ATI Drivers? Old Hard drive? OS OR as some apps does it search and update everything it can? Feels good except it took me 8 hours to do a 5 minute job. Both were run after a restart and nothing open or running. Thanks again both of you.

So simple I feel dumb. But Happy: But I later re-ran it, and it ran to completion. So perhaps if you want to give it a try with my monitor resolution to eliminate that as a possibility for your lower scores, you may have to run it twice. Now that you got it working, you can launch it, let it rip, and sit back and watch the spinning cubes. I'm running I did install the ATI drivers a few weeks back when I got the Be sure to repair permissions afterwords, a bunch of ATI stuff gets fixed afterwords.
Guesses - even tho your card has twice the onboard memory, maybe the older ATI extension when you update, it only updates the boot volume , maybe the older Panther version, maybe his L3 cache, I would think that x would run faster if you could run it at that, maybe your monitor does not react as fast. Let's see, normally a smaller monitor will run a video test faster than a larger monitor. Otherwise, you got me, a mystery. The Bandwidth is much much more important. I would be surprised if it is as fast as the GF4ti even tho it will be in a faster machine.
One more thing Randy, have you ever opened the ATI control panel?

There are some settings in there that could dramatically affect your results, too many bells and whistles maybe. D You see it's a , not a plain -- it's as if mine goes up to 11 for that extra little bit. I was trying to compare specs, but there's not as much for the since it's OEM. II on -- got something to do with increased bandwidth: Kaye and eric My first test was with Any thing in particular?
I can post a screen shot. A quick pic of the box my ATI came in. I did not focus much - see if this tells you guys anything that can help any of us out. OK, Work today!!! Glad I got a flexible job. I thought you had a new with MB. The previous version which you have had 64MB. Did my best to combine results for both. Had a hour power outtage yesterday and Da Boss called on her cell to meet her at Sears for a new clothes washer to replace the 15 year old one. Some nasty friend of hers showed Da Boss her new one with all the bells and whistles.

Cost a bundle, I may have to get a job, heaven forbid. From this point on, is somewhat faster FPS I am not having any of this problem of OpenMark suddenly quitting. I did redo the GF4ti test to carry it to completion and get a final score and to quit the two background apps mentioned above before starting the test. Currently IMO, tho the final score belies this, the GF4ti does better until you start carrying the number of triangles to the point of rediculousness.
But then nVidia has had much more time to optimize than ATI has had for this These results called triangles look more exactly like spinning cubes to me. But I guess it means that the test requires OpenGL triangles library to run. Not all applications can be overridden by OpenGL Overrides. For instance, the Halo bench test can be overridden and gives much improved results but at the expense of some bells and whistles that the can do and the GF4ti cannot.
Cinebench can also be overridden with much improved results for some of the tests with no loss of bells and whistles, because it is an application test and not a game test. Games have added so many extra goodies that will tax the fastest video card and system. So it will test nearly the same in some games or benchmarks, but slower in others because of less pipelines. Now that you mention it, I recall reading that the only had 4 pipelines, so it wasn't going to be the nearly the performer as the , which has 8.
Since I'm not a gamer, such things weren't a big deal for me.
Apple Mac Upgrades - RAM, SSD Flash, External Drives and More
I had no idea about the higher clock rate though. Wonder if there's a give and take this pipeline: All else equal, a higher clock speed would indicate that I'd run hotter and suck more juice and go faster. But the lacks a fan and doesn't need additional power via a Molex. So things as we know aren't equal between these cards, pipelines playing a role and who knows what else. ATI recommends a Watt power supply or greater to ensure normal system operation where a number of other internal devices are installed. The card comes with a long and industrial strength meaning heavy duty wires on the 4-pin Molex connector.
I did not use it but did use a shorter but also heavy duty wires connector. Beautiful looking, fog, FSAA, etc. It has, as I recall, several selectable rates, 2x, 4x, up to 6x, but even just turning it on at the lowest rate makes my MDD a dog in Halo. Actually just running the Halo Timedemo is a learning experience because you want to match the various Halo settings with the preference pane settings, even basics like monitor res and colors and Hz, as well as the OpenGL Overrides settings.
Anyway, all I can think of for now. Maybe we need to make this Costa's next project -- he likes hardware. And my too. With Radeon Enabler http: Your though has Smartshader 2. I confess I don't understand the fine details there. I ran Cinebench, man, the rendering on that brought my DA to a crawl: Radeon Resolution: Looking forward to doing that Gigabump in the near future. So at least I'll have something for comparison -- rather than just, 'the thing flies' This benchmarking is time consuming.
But if I do a little here, a little there, at least I'll have a base set. Don't do much if any gaming, so those will most likely be left out unless there's something free I can run. Cinebench v1: TZ is always keeping me up to date with the latest and he linked me http: For later tho. For full screen games or the OpenMark full test you need to run in Terminal for the data. I may get to this later today. Thanks for the info and links guys Randy.

In The author says it supports the and the as well as others. I checked my extensions in ASP and my is using the extension. There has never been a extension anyway. But for some reason I am unable to get meaningful data. I get all zeros for the data entries every 3 seconds. Maybe someone else will find it works for them. Kaye, it's working for me. I noticed on xlr8yourmac today that there's a new version available: Oh remember I have a 64MB card.
But it is different so will try that. Thanks for the link. This version of the Get RAM works a lot better. Start of add to list layer. Add to watch list Add to wish list. Sign in for more lists. No additional import charges on delivery.
