System requirements for guild wars 2 mac

Add it manually to be sure. I have an overclocked k at 4. Maybe turn off nameplates. And overclock your shit. Unless you bought the non-K one, then you got rekt. It's definitely doable on lower settings but not maxed. Are you autistic? Read the rest of this thread. There are literally a dozen different post about people running Teq at 60fps maxed out. Even the dude right below this comment with a If you're also streaming on Twitch at the same fucking time obviously you're running slower.

Guild Wars 2 System Requirements: An Overview

As always, check the power settings in your windows control panel. So check your power settings. Generally speaking, as it varies from windows version to windows version. Go to your Windows Control panel. Switch to the small individual icons mode. One of them should then be titled Power Options, or something similar. Then either find one titled Maximum Performance and select it, or find the one you're currently using and hit change plan settings.

My friend has an issue with low performance on a laptop with Windows 10 when the game runs on windowed mode, because for some reason CPU doesn't use turbo then, full screen real one, not windowed doesn't have the issue. Are you running it in windowed mode or full screen?

In general full screen has better performance too, because the system doesn't render stuff in the background. I think the problem is that in the graphics menu, everyone uses the "recommended" setting, which the game reads as "Oh, I see you want 20FPS. The resolution of your screen and the resolution that you have GW2 set to is another big determiner. There's a good chance that the "Official minimum system requirements" is for a machine that has nothing but GW2 installed and has a x screen.

I just fixed this issue on two laptops last week. Both saw huge frame rate dips ever since updating to Windows Update the Intel HD graphics driver manually If nothing changes, you'll have to Google the correct driver for your laptop model. Then update your Nvidia driver. Game should run fine after that. Gw2 is highly dependant on cpu rather than gpu, I read few weeks ago comment from Dev saying an old i5 will work as well as a modern i7 due to the way the game uses the cores and threads.

Also try playing with the ingame settings such as character model limit and turning of the content guide that should boost some fps. I don't think anyone is sure, but turning it off gives a lot of people a significant fps boost. Yes, it's weird.

Guild Wars 2 on Mac: Can You Run this Awesome Free MMO?

The UI drains a lot and the content guide is part of it. Try opening as many windows as possible and see how your fps drops. There is a video showing it somewhere on YouTube. I think it even was from woodenpotato. It has been a known problem for quite a while now. Especially when you are in squads, turning the content guide off can help reduce freeze frames and fps-drops.

They should really fix that That comment is incorrect. I'm basing on personal experience. I went from i5 k to i7 k. Noticeable framerate and graphic performance increase. So like, if you were bitcoin mining, the newer i5 would be awesome. If you're trying to run GW2, a previous generation i7 would be better imo.

This comparison with the ik shows you a good example of how much better some cards are at the single core stuff: If you have a little bit extra to spend you might go with a ik instead. That isn't what you said though. You said an old i5 will work as well as an i7. That statement there is incorrect. I have a gt and can get about 30fps with subsample rendering and that's max I can get out of it. It's true that gw2 is pretty CPU heavy but that doesn't mean your graphics card isn't important as well.

Just a reminder: A fair comparision between those specs would be using 3dmark 06 cause dx9 for both cpu and gpu performance. Any OCed i5 i mean deskop class cpu not mobile, and sandybridge onward with either a gtx or an r7 would be enough to play with decent FPS aside for zerg battle in wvw or even in pve world bosses with high graphical settings. He's got a laptop. Besides, what the hell? Stable 30? That's playable. Less than 30?

Hell no. About the "playable" part some console gamer find 30fps playable some wants to squeeze every fps from their hz monitor so "playable" has a different meaning for different kind of gamers What i really wish is an Optimition Patch in Guild Wars 2. The Game is great, but the optimition is For now I think there is something going on with your CPU. And your GPU is okay but not enough to make it look purrty. I have a k and a GTX , and this game still hits like 10fps during big world bosses.

It's just the way this game works. I've run every free benchmark I can find from unigen heaven to passmark and my PC performs fine with above the results for the same setup in most cases, and none of my other games run poorly, but I have all the settings up in guild wars. Its fine if I bring player count way down but on highest it just destroys my framerate during any world boss. Walking around in lions arch I do fine at like 70fps or so.

I have super sampling on but that doesn't help the dips during world bosses. Same set up you do. I get between 60 fps and 70 fps average on all high settings. There might be something wrong with your gw2 Dat file or drivers might need updated. Hell a corrupted windows partition could even cause it. Even in like shatterer with world full you get 60fps? Cuz I get mostly around the world it just dies during world bosses like that.

Always, always take in consideration Character Quality and Quantity settings when comparing performance. Atleast its now playable compared my earlier AMD Whenever somebody says they "average" this and that fps i always chuckle a little. Its those people who dont even check their fps and dictate it by feel and somehow manage to not see it when the fps drops to abysmal numbers. GW2 does most definately have some kind of fps smoothing as it still doesnt look or feel anywhere as bad as fps would in other games. Yeah I think my hz monitor amplifies the affect, but its very noticeable in almost every world boss if people show up in any large number.

Check to see if "Effect LOD" is turned on. It makes it so it lower the quality of other player effects and it should increase FPS. With that many players it could bring your PC down to its knees. I guess i'll try that, I just don't understand why they have all these graphics settings if no one can play it with them all on With the same video card r9 x on all max ultra, im running fps on oldworld map doing events with ik 3. Cpu upgrade boosts performance here more than some other games, yours is not that old though.

High settings with shadows and reflections on low. Character model limit on max ie, culls a lot during teq and etc. FSAA on max through nvidia panel. I feel like I have a pretty sub par system that plays gw2 way better than it 'should. I am running GW2 in boot camp on a imac with an amd radeon hd M and a 2. I can manage about 50 fps so your settings have to be off somewhere. That feel when I'm running Windows XP with minimal interruptions Aside from my game crashing every This is only a case when multiple people the the map.
