Remove paragraph marks in word mac

PaulHusby Created on December 23, I have a MS Word for Mac and for some reason I do not understand, suddenly I have those weird paragraph marks appearing on every line. In previous versions of Word, I think there was somewhere in the visible tool bar an image of that actual 'backwards P' paragraph symbol that one could uncheck to hide.

I have nothing like that on this version. Please, I need explicitly clear direction - no excessive techno-speak terminology.

Same troubleshooting steps apply, AJ, see my updated answer. OK so basically the solution is: I guess I'll live with the formatting marks.

Removing your preferences files is relatively low-touch.

No need to completely uninstall unless that doesn't work. I tried removing the Word-specific plist files and that didn't fix the issue. I'm not comfortable removing any of the other ones not knowing why, not to mention that some of them e. I agree that this is less invasive that uninstalling applications, but it still feels like a drastic approach to a minor issue. Minor enough that I'll keep living with it.

I can't find Display in Word preferences , do you mean somewhere else or is it just different in macOS?
