I'm looking to force a reset on the public WAN but it seems our provider, Comcast, is unable to assist with this directly without escalating the request that could take several days, including a potential service fee to dispatch a technician.

Unfortunately, that is beyond my comprehension as I have very little experience with routers outside of port forwarding and the basics. I can talk PCs, web design and development all day, but router techie-speak eludes me.

Would this process in fact force an IP change? I know Comcast is finicky with their IP pool, so any advice or an explanation on this process would be greatly appreciated. I can provide information on the current network setup, if need be.
