This just worked for me after a number of other solutions -- trying to eject along with credit card, with vacuuming, with turning the iMac on its side -- all failed. I then peeled off about an inch of the protective paper to reveal the sticky side of the tape and slid the card into the disc drive making sure to get the card with the tape on top of the discs.

Use the double sticky tape trick

KT tape being outrageously sticky only had to get a corner on the top disc and it pulled right out with the card. I then did the same with the other disc and now the drive works fine! Best of luck!
