Java update for mac os x 10.8.2

I can run existing sketches using Processing 1. However, when I run sketches using Processing 2. The errors sometimes change with different sketches. So, my question is what is the correct setup for Processing 2. Apple Java 6? Oracle Java 7? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Replies 9. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.

I'm teaching a class of students intro to programing with Processing. I've just encountered my first student trying to run Processing on I could not get it to work. The java 6 I find refuses to install on Java 7 is installed. I haven't done enough testing to say that it's faultless, but I would suggest uninstalling Java 7 and all other versions of Java , restarting the machine, and then reinstalling a brand new download of Java 7.
