How to Enable and Use the OS X Character Viewer on Your Mac - Make Tech Easier
Have you, by any chance, ever removed fonts that you deemed extraneous, or languages you saw as unnecessary from your system? This looks like the result of removing fonts or using something like "Monolingual".
So you guys are saying the font book manages the emojis? I do use mac cleaning softwares from time to time to free space and declutter "clean my mac 3" but i haven't used it since i did the clean install. Any solutions with that being said let me know. I've used Onyx as well, both great but i hear you, guess ill live without it until I'm ready to reinstall. Thanks a lot guys.
Character Viewer in Macintosh
For anyone having this issue in the future there is a simple solution, thank you guys for pointing me in the right direction as well. I opened font book, make sure all fonts are selected then search "emoji" you should see the "Apple Color Emoji" pop up. On my system it seems as if Multiple copies were installed.
Maybe thats just a generic error message but something with the emoji files were definitely off, I clicked resolve automatically and that was that, everything is back to normal and when I open the special character window I no longer have that super annoying loading screen. Hope this helps someone because i couldn't find any info on this previously. Glad you got it sorted. Thought prayers from had been answered when there was a BIG move to kill all emoticons, as they were then called!
