Your point is good though d0ughb0y - I was assuming DHCP was being used, so if that is not the case the solution won't be of any use. Subnetting is done in the DHCP role itself. Not sure what you mean by "in the DHCP role", but in any case, it sounds like your server is in control of it. In which case, that server is your best resource.
