Yes I've done that but the USB connectivity is only for printing it is not for a network set up routine. If you select Wifi, then it would take you a wifi setup screen where you could either use WPS setup, or a manual setup using a wireless key. The instructions that you need were on the links supplied by Keith.

Follow them and it should connect to your network. The Epson Iprint will then search for your network and find the printer.
I've gone over the installation setup again. You are quite right - you can set up the printer wifi connectivity using the USB interface it's just very ambiguous as to how you do so. I've now gone over it and selected the wifi network option and that allows me to set up the wifi without using WPS.
