Burn photos to disc on mac

Now that you are totally confused on how to handle the whole burning process, try this: All those pictures that you put on your new Mac are probably sitting around the hard drive somewhere.

Gather them up and put them in the Pictures folder, if they are not already there. It would be best to put them inside a folder that you create inside the Pictures folder.

You'll see why later Now, open iPhoto. This is the program that you are going to manage all your pictures with. Click on File and choose Import to Library. Now click on the Pictures folder that is in the lefthand pane of the window that just appeared. Find the folder the you just created and put all your pictures in, click it ONCE and then click the Import button. All your pictures go into iPhoto. Now that you can see all of your pictures, hold down the Apple key next to the spacebar, and click on all the pictures you want to burn to CD. Once you have selected all the pictures you want to burn, go to the Share menu top of the screen and select Burn.

Insert a blank CD and follow the instructions. There, you're done. Easy, huh! For regular burning of a CD, for something other than this, when you insert a blank CD into the Mac it will ask you what to do. Choose Open Finder. This will allow the blank disk to mount on the desktop. Just drag the files or pictures that you want to copy, onto the CD. CD's burned in this way cannot have anything added to them.

Good luck and welcome to the Mac world P. Burning pictures. I occasionally see the blank cd pop up on the desktop when I load one Sometimes its not there. If you look up burn cd on the help, the only thing help addresses is audio cds. I have had my brand new imac with the latest operating system for over 6 months now and still feel very frustrated at how bad the help is and at how non-intuitive everything is.

I've now entered 7 blank cd's without having them show up on desktop. I guess I'll try restarting the entire machine. I have so few options. It is too bad that you cannot simply move a file to a cd without putting it into specific applications like the annoying iphoto or itunes. Question for you: When you put a blank CD into your Mac, exactly what happens? I have a feeling that either iTunes or iPhoto opens for you. This is NOT default behavior, it is behavior that you have told the computer to do each time you insert a blank CD.

On the top line, where it says "When you insert a blank CD: Insert a blank CD. You should no get a question. Choose the Open Finder option and the CD should mount on the desktop. Did it? Now, with the CD on the desktop, you can just drag whatever you want to burn, onto the CD. When you eject the CD, by dragging it to the trash, the system will ask if you want to burn the CD. Answer appropriately and it will be done.

You can always drag to the trash can in the dock to eject. Open up any Finder window. Double click the Hard drive icon will do that. Then drag the Eject icon from the palette to the Toolbar at the top of the window.

Anyways I went to my 2nd one to one class today I have signed up for 3 next week.. U can find out about them by going to apple. U can go in any store n ask for help with any issue with anything apple.. U could even take ur iMac iPad iwhatever in n they will show u how to do exactly what u want, but u don't need to they will show u on the stores models and the one to one training is awesome u get apple specialist from anywhere from 20mins for a few hours.

How ever long u need the help.. N if u don't understand the 1st time they will tell u n explain as many times as it take but most things once u see how they're done ur really like wow I can't believe it's that day.. Also u can call apple care I write down every question I have some times as the problem comes up I write it down or if I have a few questions I call in and ask if I need the answer right then but most of the time they have open appointments so I go online n sign up for a class n that way u don't forget u ask.

I love love love my iMac iPad iLife iWork and everything else that comes from the apple family!! It's great they offer these classes anyone from a little old lady to a kid. After each class I rush home to try the new stuff out!! I hope this helps u. What many computer neophytes, and that includes a great many computer users, seem to not understand is that Help is always available, and that includes the OS X System Help. On your menu bar, the last item is Help.

I know it's a lot to ask, but if you will simply click on that menu item and type a word that is associated with what you want to know, like Burn CD, you will find a lot of information. You can also select Mac Help under the Help menu, which will display the help window. You can select the topics displayed in that window, including tutorials, or type a search word or phrase in the search box at the top right of the window.

Apple Help isn't really like Microsoft Help. Apple Help is actually helpful. It does come with instructions. As a computer neophyte, I've never found the Help system very helpful, and I think that's the first place neophytes go.
