Verified Purchase. Before you buy this Steam download, be aware that there are a lot of people having problems with this game. More often than not, when you try to load the game it gets stuck on the title screen, with the word "Initializing The only way out is to force quit the application, reboot, and cross your fingers that it will work the next time.

While I can say that game play has been fun so far the few times I've actually been able to play , the frustration factor is really cutting into the fun factor. Either Rockstar or Steam or both need to get their act together and come out with a fix. The problem has been documented with both Steam and Rockstar, and so far Rockstar's only response has been "we're working on it" with a few possible workarounds to try.

So far none of their workarounds has actually worked for me. By the way, my computer is a brand new iMac with an i7 processor and 16GB of RAM and it exceeds all the system requirements. Just thought I'd throw that information out there to avoid the inevitable "get a decent computer" replies I was tempted to rate this game 1 star, but since it is actually fun to play the few times it loads successfully, I upgraded my rating to a 2.

If it worked as it should, it would be a 4 or 5. The game doesn't start. Apparently it freezes at in initializing prompt. Doesn't go any further than that and it seems to have been that way for months. If you buy it you won't be able to play it. It won't work. The Rockstar login screen prohibits me from actually playing the game. Until then, one star from me.

I love this game and own it for the playstaion 3 but after many years I decided to own it on my Imac which came with El Capitan.

The game kinda worked but had so many issues like frame drops or would get stuck in the Start menu. When It worked it was fun. After I updated my Imac to mac OS sierra the game became unpalyable. Refuses to pass the Start menu and its stuck on initializing forever. I had a long conversation with Rockstar support, they escalated this issue to dev team and we have a patch released today!
