Ubuntu was heads and above on network stability back in those days compared to Windows, but graphics issues finally got under my skin to the point I gave up and went back to Microsoft by I have always hoped companies in general would get more on board with Linux builds in the future, but its been years now and its still fairly hit and miss I'm afraid. I'd say you should read up for awhile before diving in because it took me about a week back in to work all the various bugs out of my system.
