This device seems a bit "touchy" meaning that it may or may not recognize that there is media in the device until you push it in and out a few times. Sometimes it works the first time. Sometimes, not while reading the media, it will just randomly open. The good news is that my Windows 10 laptop recognized the device without having to find drivers, but the bad news is that my Windows 10 laptop always thinks it's connected even when it's safe in it's carrying case not included.

I ejected the drive, but Windows still thinks it is connected. Please note, the only things I've used this drive for is to install software; no movies, games, etc. I was struggling between a "2" rating and a "3" rating, but opted for the "3" simply because I was able to get software installed using this device, although not a smooth operation. Package was outstanding. The items powered on without issue, and was instantly recognized by my MacBook Air. I did a test of my favorite movie gone with the wind.

The playback was flawless without any sync issues.

From the picture, I thought the top was metal, but it's some type of special plastic made differently than the bottom part.
