Guess what this is not a mac

I think the ad works fine.

Wrong on Macs

Its meant to show consumers that they can go find a PC that suits their needs at probably a much lower price than an Apple. But I think the point of the ad is that you can find a huge variety of options, features and add-ons from a bunch of different OEMs and basically pay the price that you want to pay. A couple of days ago i bought a HP Mini netbook with Vista. I were surprised by the lack of crapware and i think i can learn to live with the small keyboard. But i miss a trackpad. I also like the reaction from the women, they all go "aaw, thats a cute little machine".

My point is; HP is capable of delivering machines which dont suck if they ever make a notebook with a trackpad i might even consider buying it. Cancel reply You must be logged in to post a comment. DReller says: March 28, at Log in to Reply.

Looks like both companies are still employing that pull-numbers-out-of-thin-air strategy, since even between them they can't make their guesstimates match closely, which they would be able to if they had actual channel data. Reply 6 of Reply 7 of Apple has a fiduciary responsibility to its shareholders to provide transparency.

Like it or not, unit sales is a key metric of a company that sells hardware. After all, winning on market share can still be a very unprofitable venture that is not sustainable. By still showing unit sales figures and adding this visibility such things as Apple Watch sales, Apple shows an honest reality to shareholders.

It helps them understand how Apple is going up market and the success of various business lines. By choosing to not be opaque, Apple has an opportunity to lead here - doing so by example.

I hope they they reconsider their stance. Shareholders can and should bring this as a requirement. As consumers of their product, we should also expect nothing less.

Embarrassingly desperate flattery

This information is easily searchable. Most people are not shy about publicly discussing their relatives. Nicknames of children may also be a very bad idea, as many of us use those nicknames in front of people outside the family, or the children themselves may freely dispense this information. Did you spend much of your honeymoon at a certain beach? Wow, this one has a lot of options. Your favorite book may have changed from the time you initially set the answer as your Secret Question, plus a lot of your "favorites" might be known to anyone who knows you fairly well or can sneak a peek at your list of interests on Facebook. Several of them are not applicable to me and may not be for you either. Others are pieces of information I share freely.

The name of the street you grew up on is a horrible idea, as old addresses are very easy to research. Does anyone over the age of 15 remember the last name of their grade school teachers? If so, do they routinely show off this feat of memory?

Besides, any old classmate with a yearbook could dredge up this information. Address questions are still risky. Are you starting to see the patterns here?
