That's a bit out of the scope of this subreddit more focused on the real hardware than emulation , but check it out if you're interested. It's worth noting that this convoluted process, with luck, won't be necessary anymore in the relatively near future.
Apparently a public, free exploit for the DSi has been discovered, and is being worked upon. You'll be able to dump your NAND without a hardmod that way. However the in-game background tiles in playable areas are visually corrupted. Otherwise it runs fine, but that's a very visible flaw.
What Are Emulators and ROMs?
Considering you probably already did this and obtained those files in step 6, and that your DSi is now permanently offline and not at a risk anymore to be banned I'd understand if it was a 3DS though , is there any way you could None of the software based solutions worked for me, god knows I tried. The dumps are incomplete for whatever reason. Thanks a lot, if only just for sharing this procedure for other people to know how in the world they're supposed to get those damned files.
Yet untested: Regular retail DS games with optional DSi enhancements. Have yet to find one that doesn't use the camera. It's a bit underwhelming, but still a far cry from how it used to be simply not emulated at all. Lots more games boot now. Of course, when trying to play digital games, it wouldn't make sense to boot them from the physical cart slot under the DSi menu retail DSi-enhanced, retail DSi-exclusive work thou , so another method is included in the gbatemp discussion thread linked to above. What's even the point of having people go through all the trouble in this guide if you'll have step 6 in there anyway?
Other than that, nice guide. Hopefully there's more interest in the DSi in the future, though with the 3DS being thoroughly hacked and being compatible with it I wonder how likely it is for people to focus on the DSi.
