The packaging on this product is an immediate turn-off for me, just because it is so difficult to get the product out. The opening of the pot is too small, it can't even fit a lot of brushes and it definitely won't fit your makeup sponge. Rimmel has a few items in its makeup range that are supposed to be good for your skin, including this one. It is supposed to give your fresher looking skin and supposedly it does not clog your pores. I don't think any of that is true.

The few times I wore this foundation, before it got banished to the bad bin, it broke me out every single time.

At first I thought this was because I was doing something different in my skincare regimen or because of my hormones, but after a while I just had to accept that it was the foundation that caused my problems. And then, there's the wear time. Like I said, it will stay put for a few hours, but that's it.

It might be cheap, but there's other affordable makeup on the market that's way better than this one. Like the next foundation I'm going to talk about, for example. I actually bought this foundation because it came with a free concealer and I needed a concealer , but I'm very glad I did since this foundation was actually one of my February favorites. Quite heavy on the skin The bottle says it has a second skin effect, but I don't agree with that.

I find it does feel quite heavy on the skin, you are certainly aware of the fact that you are wearing foundation. I don't really mind this, but it does mean that I don't like to use this on an every day basis, because I do like to let my skin breathe every now and then. The formula is quite runny, which means I like to apply it with damp makeup sponge. Damp Makeup Sponge I find this applies best with a damp makeup sponge.

You get a better coverage with a damp makeup sponge then were you to use a dry makeup sponge or a brush.

You can apply this with a foundation brush as well, but you won't get the coverage you get from a makeup sponge. Longwearing The bottle says it has 24h-wear and I completely believe it! I haven't actually worn this foundation for 24hours straight, since I don't usually stay up for a full 24hours but maybe I will in the future because the life of a vet student can be hard ;.

It wears all day and at the end of the day there's still a lot of foundation left on your face as well.

High coverage This foundation is pretty high coverage, especially when you apply it with a damp makeup sponge. The coverage doesn't fade during the day, so this foundation will help you stay flawless all day long. This is probably the cheapest one out of the bunch but also one of my favorites. My opinion This a good and affordable foundation, that's why it deserved a spot in my February Favorites. Since it is really high coverage and it does feel quite heavy on the skin, I don't like to use this too many days in a row, out of fear of irritating my skin.

I like to use this quite regularly but I do switch it up every now and then with something that's a little lighter on the skin. It is also incredibly cheap, which makes it a good product to be using regularly. Lightweight This is a little bit of a thicker foundation but it does feel light on the skin. Just a little dollop of this is enough to cover your entire face with medium coverage.

However, if you build this up to get a higher coverage, it does get heavier on the skin as well and it doesn't feel as comfortable as it does with just one layer of foundation. Damp Makeup Sponge Even though this is a little bit of a thicker foundation, I do use a damp makeup sponge to apply this one. When I use a foundation brush, it tends to be a little streaky and I don't get as much coverage as I would were I to use a makeup sponge. Longwearing This is another foundation that stays put all day long. It does fade a little during the course of the day, but you're still left with a nice coverage at the end of the day.

Medium coverage I would say this one is medium coverage. You probably could build this up to get a high coverage, but I don't think it would sit as comfortably on the skin if you were to build it up that much.

I really like this foundation and I find myself reaching for it quite regularly, but it's not my absolute favorite. Lightweight This foundation is a little different, in the way that it transforms from a liquid to a more powdery consistency. It has a matte finish and because it turns to a powder-like substance it feels really light on the skin. Foundation Brush I apply this with a foundation brush, since I've found that when you use a makeup sponge, it doesn't have the same liquid-to-powder effect as it does with the brush.

If you do apply this with a makeup sponge, it will feel a little heavier on the skin and I've also found it doesn't wear as long as it does when you use a brush. This foundation comes out of the packaging quite runny but once you start working this in to the face it turns into some kind of powder. You can get through your day without having to touch up, but at the end of the day your foundation will have faded quite a bit.

Medium coverage This one has a medium coverage as well. It evens out your skin tone, covers up blemishes and even some small spots. Bigger spots will need some concealer if you plan on wearing this foundation. I don't recommend trying to build this foundation up, since it will start to look quite powdery if you do. This, once again, is a drugstore foundation, which means it is quite affordable, even though this is one of the pricier foundations at the drugstore.

It is still completely worth the money though and I'll probably buy this one in a darker shade soon, so I can wear this during the summer as well. I have to be honest, I haven't actually tried this out enough to give you a good review. I bought this at the end of last year, but unfortunately I bought the wrong shade. I do believe this shade will be perfect for summer, but since I'm still the same shade as Snow White right now, I haven't had the chance to really play around with it. That's why I'll just talk you through the specifics of this one, but I'll have to give you my review at a later time.

Lightweight cream This foundation has a solid to liquid formula. It is a liquid in the pot, but glides on the face like any other liquid foundation would. It's also very lightweight and sits very comfortable on the skin.

An oil-controlling formula that offers a natural matte finish with medium to full coverage.

Foundation Brush Since this has a solid to liquid formula there really is no other way for applying this, than a foundation brush. You need the foundation brush to get the solid foundation out of the pot. If you try to use a makeup sponge with this, you'll find it hard to get a good amount of product on the sponge.

This foundation has a solid to liquid formula. It's a solid in the pot but smooths over your skin like any other liquid foundation would. Longwearing I don't really know if this is true. Light to Medium coverage The foundation is great for even out your skin tone or covering up small blemishes. It is difficult to get a higher coverage than that since you only pick up a little bit of product each time you swirl your brush around in the pot. You could build it up a little but but will take a little more time than it would with some of the other foundations in this post, just because you'll have to go back and pick up more product every time. It gives you a very natural looking finish, even when you build it up. This is another foundation I bought on a whim.

I was planning on going to a Vampire party and I just needed a foundation in a very light shade. So I just went for the cheapest foundation I could found. Turns out, I could use a very light-shaded foundation in my every day life. Once I put on this foundation, I discovered it was actually an almost perfect match to my skin tone and so I have been using it every now and then. It does have a kind of powdery finish. I don't mind this at all, but if you don't like this, this might not be the foundation for you. Because of the way the pot is shaped, the only way you can get any product out of the packaging is with a foundation brush.

When you first put the foundation on your face, it might look a little streaky, but this is easily solved by working the product a little better into the skin. Not great Just like the Rimmel Fresher Skin Foundation, the wear-time on this foundation isn't great. You can't go a whole day without needing to reapply. It does wear a little longer than the Rimmel foundation, but it still isn't great. Light to Medium Coverage The coverage on this foundation, on the other hand, is better than the Rimmel one.

It evens out the skin tone and helps cover little blemishes, thus leaving you with a natural look. I just needed a cheap foundation. I could never have guessed I would end up using this in my everyday life as well. My opinion Even though this isn't a bad foundation, I don't find myself reaching for this one. It just doesn't wear long enough for all-day use.

I use it every now and then, when my eye falls on it, but that's about it. I prefer some of the previously mentioned foundations to this one, but if you need a really cheap lightweight foundation, and you don't mind reapplying your makeup every now and then, this might be the foundation for you.
