Connect apple tv to mac wifi

To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. I want to connect my MacBook pro to my new apple TV via wifi so I can view photos, play music and watch movies. ATV2 does not see the network; my iMac does see the network, but I think it was listed as a "Device". Select that and you should be connected. Thing is it doesn't seem to honor security settings specified when creating network.

At least, ATV2 didn't prompt me for a password, but it still connected. Plus, I can't seem to play movies that were purchased via iTunes store. It says "Authorization is required".
