View answer in context. Loading page content. I tried what you suggested and no dice. I checked the manual for it: The KVM is firmware upgradeable, though I can't find a trace of one on the belkin website. Reply Helpful Thread reply - more options Link to this Post. I can't get the KVM to show the mac screen. I have a mini display port to hdmi adaptor that is connected to the mac.

The adaptor is connected to the kvm using a hdmi to dvi cable. But when I connect them to the kvm I can't see the screen. How did you connect the MBA to kvm?

How did you make it work? Release the Minus key [-] and within one second, also release the Clear Key d. If it switches to the other computer, just re-connect the USB cable back into the computer you previously removed it from and it should continue to work I don't know about what might happen following a restart - just repeat if necessary I would guess.
Try the above combo first. Press the T key [t] not mentioned in the manual e.

Press the Enter key not mentioned in the manual f. I can't remember if I pressed the 'T' key and 'Enter' key to get it to work.
I can't even remember if I pressed the Enter key or Return key. I was just shocked that it worked after IOGear told me to get a 'generic' aka PC keyboard, and all the forums I read said it wouldn't work with an aluminum keyboard. I tried sooooo many things that were suggested with absolutely no luck. But this did it!!!!! Paul Lyon. Worked perfectly. The purchased a new Apple Aluminum keyboard and nothing but weirdness ever since.

Here's the short version believe me of the first evening and first mornings experience with the Aluminum keyboard. Next morning today , power up one same Mini and the keyboard is NOT recognized for log in. NO power at caps lock key lamp. Still NO caps lock key lamp or key 'action'. Unplug the keyboard, reconnect the keyboard same extension cable and KVM port - just like before and and at first nothing.
Then in about 1 to minutes, the caps lock key lamp comes on and all is well again. At this point I had also booted the other Mini. I then decided to program the KVM for Mac keyboard. Must have taken me at least 10 attempt to invoke HotKeys. One it did, I entered "T" once, automatically exited HotKeys mode and now "control" key switches between them perfectly. Can it be that these keyboard take minutes to warm up? I have seen some other suggestions that I have tried, none working for me.
First, I have seen suggestions about putting a powered usb hub between the KVM and the keyboard. Thus, providing the keyboard with what should be ample power. In the absence of an eject key you should be able to press F12 to eject CDs. However, I have noticed that scroll-lock maps to "shutdown" on my mac.
So whenever I switch using the keyboard, I get a dialog box that pops up asking me if I'm sure I want to shut down my computer now.
I really want to use Mac keyboards with them, as I've become quite enamoured of the latest 'keys in a tray' white keyboards. The Belkin ones I've tried do that annoying beeping thing with Mac keyboards and the Dr Bott ones are just bloody expensive I can't find an Australian distributor for the IOGear ones Managing Editor et Subscriptor. What he said twice. You should be able to remap the switch key. Jump to: Apr 26, Posts: Thu May 27, 5: Mar 11, Posts:
