My Review of the EVGA GTX 680 Mac Edition

I hoped that it would allow me to colour correct more easily by displaying my changes immediately without rendering. For that this card is worth the money for me. The real bonus is that the Adobe Video Encoder also leverages this card for faster encoding. Projects are encoding to DVD and H at dramatically faster rates. I'm really impressed. Installation was easy but not this card is currently not compatible with the new Mac OS Mavericks.

I had purchased this little number for my Mac pro 3,1 tower in response to the ridiculous price of the new Trashcan style that Apple released. I recommend you do the same if you are in video editing or digital arts Basically this guy blows the pants off of my 3rd party upgrade GPU I had before. Boot time can be a little longer but from what I've read its because this thing is a beast.

My premiere pro render times are much more realistic in a less than 1: It was literally plug and play. Best wishes to your entire team for outstanding service and products. Rendering playback from PP or AE is quick and smooth. Installation was a snap. Directions in the box were a little misleading but no big deal. Before you remove your old graphics card, be sure you go to the EVGA website and download the most recent driver and install it.

I know it wasn't a hardware problem because the card worked perfectly when I boot camped the machine to Windows. So, I bit the bullet and ordered this card. Its expensive. But its fast, and it works. Its the fastest supported graphics card you can get for the old style mac pros, and I've had no graphics issues since I've switched to it. I do covet one of the new trash-can style Mac Pros, but its just not much quicker or have enough capabilities to justify a multi-thousand dollar purchase.

So getting this card will tide me over until my trusty Mac Pro dies, or Apple releases a product that is worthy of upgrading to. One star off for the price differential between the Mac Pro and Windows versions. Top critical review. Limited life expectancy due to lack of software updates!!!!!!!!!!!

EVGA GeForce GTX Graphics Card for Mac 02G-PKR B&H

Fit fine, needed to be re-seated and double checked to get working after my install, but powered right up and booted into an Appe Start-Up Screen just fine. Came in generic packing and no Mac Markings. No literature or install info So far, so good I'll see if I can upgrade my OSX to the latest version.. Cheap enough to keep my Mid Mac Pro in the game. One person found this helpful. I bought this to update my Mac Pro mid to Mojave Os.

It works fine and keeps all the Apple boot up features. Video board arrived when it was supposed to. Great condition despite not being in the actual packaging. Easy to install and booted my early MAC Pro flawlessly! This video card was easy to install and worked great with my Mac desktop.

If you are looking to upgrade to a better video card then I recommend this card. First off I am an apple product fan because of their quality built products but it comes with a steep price tag not all are willing to pay. If your looking at this card I guess your willing to pay that price.
