This is terrible, or rather I was ripped off by the person who sold it to and by Amazon No, CD to download the program, no instruction, bad packaging, etc AND, I didn't get a refund when I returned it.

I thought I'd write this review as a counter punch to those who wrote bad reviews about the scanner. I purchased mine when I bought my first iMac back in Here it is and the scanner is still working as good as it did from day one. But the scanner will be given to someone who can appreciate its ease of use and great quality scans. I was looking for a source of information on the scanner so I could send it to the person I want to give the scanner to and this link came up first in my Google search.

Perhaps people who are using Windows are having issues with the scanner but this scanner works great with a Mac. One person found this helpful. Daniel Parenteau danp execpc.

After installing this scanner and seeing it listed on my system as functioning properly I was unable to scan. Any software I tried said that the scanner could not be found and gave me some information and suggestions for my SCSI ports. After much seaching I located a couple threads in a newsgroup that the scanner only works on one of the two USB ports. Great right? The arm wouldn't move and any program I tried said that the scanner was locked. I made sure it was unlocked more than a few times. This scanner is being returned. The only problem I had with this scanner is that the drivers wouldn't load from the CD that comes with the scanner onto my IMac.

I had to download them from AGFA's webpage, it was easy to do, but maybe not so easy for the non techie. Once I got the driver loaded, the scanner works great. The images are clear, the scan time is very quick and the machine runs very quitely. I do alot of graphic designing, and this scanner has been great.

Now I need to find a good and inexpensive color printer. I have yet to get my scanner running. I could even live with the fact that it would use the drivers from Windows 98 and I would lose some performance. But the setup programs alerts me that it doesn't support NT, and then promptly quits.

Something, somewhere, whether on the Amazon. But it doesn't. I have the AGFA U, and it has worked very well until the other day when it will print only one size small.

The only way I can get a different size is to send it through the E-Mail back to my self. Could you give me a hint as to what I am doing wrong? I have tried every thing I know. See all 6 reviews. SNAPSCAN 1212U

I have the old blue translucent model that came out about the time as the original bondi blue iMacs have one of those too and it works great with my current iMac G4 running Tiger. I've always run the Scanwise software and have it runs for me now in Tiger, not in Classic. I'll check and see what version I have and let you know. Looks like I have Scanwise X version 2. Is that what is currently available for download?

The download - I did download it but not install it - isn't dated as I look at the info in the download window. The home page has this note: Would there be any harm in plugging in the scanner with NO driver for Tiger and seeing what happens? I haven't priced them obviously and I may be way off base here. I'd love to hear your thought on the additional info I've provided. Mrs H. Yes, should work as always booted into OS9. Should be no harm whatsoever. Nope, only installing would have any effect one way or the other Some Scanners or MFps are dirt cheap these days.

BTW, If you don't use it that much, it has a free trial anyway. That's what I figured. Ge info shows the same info as in the window in finder, just that it's a Stuffit. For date created it shows yesterday - the day I downloaded it. That's worth a look, the next time I need to scan I'll try it. I've worked around the need for the scanner recently by photoing what I needed and then using my card reader to transfer the photo to the computer.
