All of our regular updates include bug fixes and performance improvements to make Voice Recorder better for you. Cant start the app suddenly. I was using it fine few days ago and suddenly the app can't be launched. After launching it closes automatically. Worked great yesterday, today crashes on boot. Reset and reinstalled, no fix. Lumia LTE. Windows Voice recorder can not record while screen turned off.

If you record 2hr clip, screen stays on for 2hrs or it won't record. Can not run in background. You have to keep the app opened as long as you record. Otherwise it stops recording. Doesn't save recorded clips. It always saying "couldn't save" but it "recovered last clip". You go to recorded files and its not playable on phone or PC. I used a Nokia N70 music edition in and it had a way better voice recorder than this on symbian OS.

If this is how Microsoft make official apps for their phones, I am totally done with windows phones. This would be my last windows phone. By far the best recorder in terms on audio quality, but I don't understand why it is still unable to record in background or lock screen? This app is able to record phone calls so why can't it do that?

It doesn't work in the lock screen or as a background app. Maybe me but it didn't work, required microphone set up which was already done.

I am having trouble when I stop recording in that the recordings keep not saving correctly. More often that not it says this format isn't fully supported when it goes to save the recording. I would like to be able to choose where the recordings are stored when created. So if you needed these software to record lectures, or anything you wanted to save I had 35 lectures recorded, now none of them will play, thanks windows.

All this happened since updating to windows I love new software that destroys old software one wans to keep and use without warning. To save a recording maybe we need to revert to the old but proven methods, a cassette recorder would work best. It could actually record in the background, unlike this app. The app won't play certain recordings, so I copied one of them from my phone to my laptop. No luck.
