Hitting the f1 or similar keyboard commands are giving me that boink sound…. Any ideas? Thank you so much.

How to Connect a Mac to a Projector

I had the same problem as noted above. Bad Mac display and using EM. I had no problems til Yosemite update and then my Mac LockScreen would be just blurry. This fixes it quick. Thanks much. I want to be able to to turn on airplay and mirror my desktop in my bedroom without having to go back into the living room, turn on the TV and drag the mouse over to the AirPlay mirroring on the desktop. I hit command F1 and nothing seems to happen. Can anybody please help with this? Now I have a fixed system-wide useless apple shortcut taking over.

There is literally no way to change that setting based on the steps you provided. Where are you getting this information? Have you tried it before your rant?

Thank you so much! My damn lovely cat walked over my keyboard and pressed a combination of god knows what, resulting in my monitor only displaying the background, but no browser and no apps or anything would work.. Then voila. Command F1. The issue I am having is that my dock and top menu bar get cut off.

Is there any way of changing zoom options on the display, or readjusting the display to fit the whole screen? I got a new macbook retina and needless to say the screen broke and now all i see are lines on the screen and my friend at some point hooked it up to my tv and i was able to use it.

This is a really awful interaction.

Personally, I have never in the last 25 years needed to quickly mirror two displays. However, not knowing that I hit command-F1, I had no idea what keyboard shortcut would restore my desktop. A real productivity killer. I just went into keyboard shortcuts to see how I could turn this one off.

Ah, I see This is interesting. I'm using a 3rd party keyboard so maybe that is the reason why my keyboard shortcuts are so limited.
