I'd like to amend my answer. Mmm, thanks, but the question still stands: This edition of Windows 7 supports GPT partitions, so why should this error message ever be issued?

Apple, of course, will be no help in this. They'll simply say Windows 7 isn't supported on this model, or claim it's a bad disc image The days of running Windows on Macs have pretty much come and gone already. I've tried installing Windows 7 on four Macs recently, all different models, and the results were different every time. There are some known, long-term and thus inexcusable defects in the Windows installer if I remember correctly though.

I can't find the reference at the moment, but there's some problem where Windows doesn't parse ISO format correctly; it doesn't handle a version number that's appended to filenames on a disc image.

That didn't work either. Once again that didn't work.

It was at this point I got the GPT partition style error. Up to this point I had been getting messages that stated that I had to check the system log files to find out what went wrong. Now that I had a concrete error that I could search for, I quickly found this post. And the installation has gone just fine. Feb 1, 5: Feb 1, 6: Manually interrupting BC Assistant flow causes all sorts of issues. Yeah I didn't interrupt the Boot Camp Assistant flow. I also only posted that for people who may happen upon this later by searching this issue, so that they know it may not work. I'm not reaching out for help Communities Contact Support.

If such a tool reports the presence of one 0xEE partition and one or more other partitions, then it's probably a hybrid disk. Technically, though, this test is inconclusive; it's possible to create a disk that meets these criteria but that has no valid GPT data structures.
