The next car game tech demo mac

Don't take that as "it's bad" though, it looks convincing enough and the driving is very satisfactory. I've personally bought into both, because I feel like they cover completely different niches. Except I am being extremely weary of alphas after the Starforge incident. It looked so cool and I fell for it: Starforge is still cool, as a concept.

The difference here is that Starforge was a first-time project for the devs, while Bugbear have been in the games industry for 14 years and the BeamNG guys have proved their worth with the RoR engine and therefore already have a huge community to "feed", as it were. Both of these games are pretty safe bets in my opinion. Yeah I can understand that. I think I'm taking a whole lot less risk with either one of these games as I was with StarForge. The videos of StarForge seemed misleading as there really was almost no content.

I know it's alpha and I can always respect that but there has just been very little progress: I would love for them to keep my money but at this rate I may try to get a refund and invest my money into another alpha game! ME TOO! I thought I was the only one. Nope you weren't the only one tricked!! I may still try to get my money back. It's been like 6 months though. And I've only played like 6 hours Damn now I want them both. Next car game looks like it would be dang fun to race in and Drive looks like it would fun to drift corners and all of that nonsense.

I've yet to play Next Car Game aside from a few minutes in the tech demo, but it does seem to push a lot of particle effects for flashier collisions to make up for the fact that they are not real-time simulated - a comparison video of BeamNG Drive vs Next Car Game will highlight how Drive's collisions 'flow' all the way through the simulation, so you can watch the hood crumple and the rest of the chassis shudder as you collide headlong into a wall; Next Car Game just snaps appropriate-looking deformation into place.

Now, I don't want to take to big of a shot at NCG here- their website reveals that they're effectively upgrading it from the FlatOut series, so they have a focus for this to be a through-and-through game. And then they throw in a bit about how the physics engine can "put a ton of flying metal and dirt in the air at any given time, and we certainly will! So Drive isn't as flashy. The menus are a bit tedious at the moment soon to be fixed with the next update , and the user DrowsySam has been pushing out content faster than the project devs which has actually been really cool to see- he's made multiple functional aircraft in an engine focused on car simulation!

But Drive works really well for its focus- first and foremost a physics simulation that's being adapted for racing and beyond. Kinda backwards, if you compare it to just about any other driving game, considering "The Race Update" that we've been eagerly anticipating is a core functionality of just about anything else with a car in it. But it's so incredibly refreshing for the vehicles to not just bounce off everything until it explodes, but rather see bumpers wrap around posts in the ground, golf carts flatten when landing upside down from ridiculous heights, or jeeps crawling across rocky landscapes with the right off-road suspension.

So yeah, I'm a bit biased towards BeamNG right now, as I've had a good bit of fun with the engine over the past few months, but I can't deny that I'd get a good kick out of Next Car Game online. Now if only they'd drop their price about ten dollars more to match Drive Vehicles are made of multiple parts, going so far as driveshafts and suspension coils. Which all can break, bent, dent, fracture and break. Also you can remove parts from the vehicles. Wow, I've been checking the wiki changelog , which hasn't been updated since last September, so for some reason I thought development was dead.

Downloading an updated version now. Development is by no means dead though, as shown in the dev blog, they're just working on a big release. Is this available for Linux? I've been trying to see how long I can go without Windows, and this might be yet another temptation.

Verwandte Screenshots

Nope, Windows only. They don't even mention Linux on the FAQ, because, you know, nobody knows it exists. Currently we can only focus on the Windows platform and we cannot say whether or not we can support Mac in the future. However, forum user Zapology has successfully allowed BeamNG. Wait, what is the most recent version? I just downloaded the setup from the link they sent me in my email, and I still get 0. Have I downloaded it wrong, and if so can someone help me out? Yeah, 0. They haven't released an update in a while because they're working on a bigger update with a lot of overhauls.

NCG, at it's current stage is a racing game and just that not including the tech demo.

Next Car Game made over $1 million after one week in ....

It's literally all you can do. Drive is a lot more open, you can create your own maps, and play and download others. If you have the skills, you can even create your own cars or simply download others.

Hell, one dude has already made a working plane in it. Drive is essentially an almost hyper realistic sandbox at the moment and NCG is a racing game with soft body physics. Thanks for the thought out response. I just tried the demo for drive and it reminded me of a upgraded version of rigs of rods which is a good thing. I spent hours crashing cars and trucks down the side of a mountain to simulate what would happen in a real life scenario. Really hoping they're able to add multiplayer in down the track, would make a great sequel to 1nsane. I have absolutely no idea why people keep saying NCG has soft-body physics, because it doesn't.

It's dynamic model deformation. People keep saying it because that's what it looks like. Personally, I have never heard of dynamic model deformation. Yes, I know, But if you were to just download the game off of steam you would just get a massively incomplete racing game. You do get the tech demo on Steam, I picked the game up two days ago and it came with it. Lots of fun. Have played the demo. Is also quite awe inpiring. Check out Nerd3's video. It's about 25 minutes long and funny as hell. Got a couple extra rigs and a few of the maps. Cars seems to slide out, or I cant seem to keep her going straight.

Be sure to say hello to them and join the discussion! See you next week! Here some screenshots players are taking with the new camera mode in Build 3. You can pause the action and then free roam with camera to fine the prefect pic. The all-awesome screenshot thread. Its great when kickstarter kicks in an save screw you publishers.. The game looks amazing i may pick it up.. Looks like fun who doesnt want to wreck cars on a race track lol..

A repost fom Bugbear's Weekly Report Mar 08 thread:. Another busy week down! The development of the title is rolling on at a steady pace on many fronts. A majority of our coding team has been concentrating on developing our engine, while the level and art teams have been creating — you guessed it — new cars and tracks. Like said, the first iteration of our replay feature is now almost completed. The way it works is that it will record the whole event, and afterwards you can simply let the replay roll and watch the whole barrage of twisted metal again in different camera perspectives or even in your custom one by using the free camera functionality.

It will also feature time controls slowing down and speeding up for those cool slow-motion shots , camera lock to target car follow , target switching, pause and resume, as well as depth-of-field and field-of-view settings. In short, all the tools you might need to create your perfect cinematic video!

We also have some great news to those using multiple controllers to play the game, for example separate wheels and pedals. Currently the game only supports single controller at a time, and while that is of course not a problem if you use a wheel and pedals from the same set by plugging the pedals directly to the wheel, it makes it impossible plug both the wheel and the pedals directly to the system via an USB connection. Thanks to Tapio all that will change with the next update, after which the game will support multiple simultaneous controllers.

The next update will contain quite a few other controller support improvements as well; complete details when the update is out. Speaking of controllers, quite a few of you have voiced your concern that the handling is currently too sluggish with a gamepad, taking away much of the fun. The reason why we introduced slower steering rate in the first place was to make the cars easier to control without any driving assists by preventing the player from making too drastic countersteering measures to combat fishtailing, but now in retrospect it does seem like we jumped the gun and made a too hasty decision on how to improve the situation.

Oh, and before I forget: AI collisions, making it possible for the player to plow through scores of AI opponents without too much difficulty. That covers the most important news, but we still have a little treat for the end. It would be cool if I could find a racing game that is taken very seriously. I'm a professional racing car driver in real life, but the hobby is very expensive. The gas we use is high-octane and we burn through it quickly.

That's the beauty of a racing game, you don't need to worry about the overhead costs. R Factor and iRacing have their own communities, but it's not as expansive as the real thing with prize money, tournaments etc.

A new weekly report got posted today. Report got delayed last week because Bugbear Dev Ben was out with bronchitis. Dev Update Apr 4. Because a lot of the Bugbear Devs were sick last week or 2, Build 4 been delayed until next week. Sorry to keep your folks waiting, we know that you're all anxious to get your hands on the new build. We were really hopeful that we'd get to roll out the update this week but since we still have quite a few loose ends I'm afraid we won' t be able to get it out until sometime next week.

The update will not be 'major' in the sense that there would be a lot of new content, instead it will mostly contain improvements and bug fixes on what we already have that said, improved handling is in! I know quite a few of you are looking forward to improved damage system, more complete car upgrading and proper scoring among other exciting features, but they take quite a bit of time to implement right and for the most part they cannot be implemented in small steps at a time in order to make sure that the build remains functional and playable.

Needless to say, we are working on the above mentioned features among other stuff, and they will be implemented in the public build as soon as we're satisfied that everything's working like we want. I'm glad that they are receiving the success that they deserve. Due to lack of coverage from troll websites like gamespot , their crowd funding had failed but now they have received even more money that they needed through early access. This game is turning out be really fun experience.

Update 3 The classic sandpit environment with its sweeping corners, hefty hillocks and treacherous sand banks is admittedly one of the greatest fan-favorites, and the latest incarnation, albeit still very much work-in-progress, is guaranteed to make a perfect setting for some serious, no-holds-barred racing. The update also contains a new replay mode that makes it possible to watch the whole glorious race again from every imaginable perspective.

Other than that the update features two new derby stadiums as well as a number of improvements, many of which were done based on community feedback. One of the most significant additions is the support for more than one simultaneous controller, so now you can finally drive like a boss with separate wheels and pedals. Also, the suspension and tire physics have been enhanced, and as a result the handling feels more natural than ever.

Needless to say, the update also contains an ample amount of other improvements and fixes.

Please see below for the most significant changes: Going uphil in sandpit I couldn't but noticed I raced there yesterday In FlatOut 1. The beginning also reminds me of prototype. A lot of people really liked the prototype track and since it wasn't in Flatout we were free to use it.

So it actually is the prototype track but enhanced for our newer engine. We'll be improving on it still and it's only a work in progress at this point. Bugbear goes "retro flat-out" - prototype track. Played for 2hours and made a video showcasing its nice physics: P if you loved flatout this seems its going to be even better. Bugbear release a new hotfix patch for Next Car Game Friday. Patch fix the problems pad players have been having since Build 3. Pad players are now happy and enjoying the new Sandpit track. The detailed destruction here is ridiculous.

I'm sad I missed the kickstarter but will definitely pick up a copy when finished. The Kickstarter campaign was aborted anyway, just get the early access version on STEAM or preorder it on their site if you are interested in trying it early:. Sometimes dreams became the reality And now any team can create an outstanding driving simulator using CarX Technology. CarX Technology - is a unique and universal high class car physics engine.

CarX combines a very realistic behavior of all vehicle types with simple control from different kinds of devices. Our physics model represents a very detailed simulation of vehicle dynamics in real time. CarX universal and can be used for all car types, and they will behave like real ones in any conditions and situations.

Due to amazingly realistic force feedback on the steering wheel you will truly feel the car like you driving the real one, but due to Driving assist you can clearly control the car with keyboard keys, even in extreme situations. The difficult and important part of car physics is tire model which is responsible for the interaction with the track. Our tire model takes into account lots of factors, for example, tire deformation change the contact patch with road, you'll feel it and even see deformation visually.

CarX blurs the line between the simulator and arcade it makes the game about cars, and no matter if you're using steering wheel, keyboard, joystick, mouse, or a gyroscope, you will always feel and precisely control the car. The Development of CarX took more than 8 years and it is still improving.

For long eight years, the quality of the project grew until it reached the level to which we aspire. We were getting a lot of e-mail: Knowing how much time and work requires engine of such class, we think:
