That might have taken control away from AirPlay for this capability. See a previous comment on this article. IP addresses are usually assigned by your home router, but you might have assigned a static IP to one or the other device. This might only be a temporary fix. If your router is more than 3 years old, you might want to see if restarting it helps, at least temporarily. I should say that routers can be easily hacked, and most people never even know it because all they did was plug the router in — never logged into it to change the access password or make any other security changes. Hi Rush, thanks for your comment! A standard user account should be able to use Apple TV just fine. If it can it should , then migrate all his user files and such to the new user account and delete the old one. Conflict due to 3rd party security software on the iMac. With Airparrot I can use 3! You can see it has power enough. VLC Streamer works very well, with my iPad as the go-between. Also you need to kick all other users off your network to have it run smoothly. Freezing and chopping is constant.
I had to uninstall it altogether. AirParrot is not perfect, but I would certainly give it at least a A- with getting my Sammie to work with Apple TV and mirroring Powerpoint presentations and slideshows.
