The nice thing about VueScan is that it will work with all those consumer-grade scanners. The bad thing is that the interface is unlike any other scanner software. But it is very capable. I used the Software kept crashing whenever I changed any setting off the default value and running the software with altered settings.

VueScan isn't my cup of tea. When scanning, I use an old Windows XP machine. All other stuff goes down on the Mac. No additional drivers necessary when using VueScan.

Here I read that it is possible but the software download and adaption seems difficult for me. Updating the driver I think I can handle. Usually using Vuescan under Linux, but wanted to give the original software a try…. So far VueScan has proven to be faster and easier to use — but the scan results have been very poor compared to what I get with the original Dimage Scan Dual software.
