Flat Out Fabulous: The texture of Flat Out Fabulous, like other Retro Mattes, is slightly drier than normal, but not so dry that it makes application difficult at all. Color payoff is just as intense and bright as it is in the tube, but is a bit warmer on some lips like mine , due to the fact that some people have more pigmented lips than others. Flat Out Fabulous gives me just under 7 hours of wear without a liner and about 8 with one. Like other Retro Mattes, some fading in the center of the lip might occur after a little while, or after eating.

It has a Matte finish rather than a Retro Matte, so the sheen that lasts a bit longer before it sets into a true matte finish. It also feels creamier than the lipsticks previously reviewed in this post.

The texture is smooth and applies easily with no dryness or tugging. Color payoff is slightly more intense in the tube than it is on the lips, with opacity being nearly complete, except for just in the center of the lip common with any matte lipstick.

Wear time for Heroine is usually around 6 hours, and closer to 7 with a liner. Kinda Sexy: Color payoff is great, but it may show more pinky tones once applied to the lip, due to the natural color of your lips.

Coverage is full and opaque without having to apply much lipstick. I usually get about 6 hours of wear without a liner and closer to 7 with one. Honeylove is more nude, lighter and cooler toned. Velvet Teddy is also a cooler toned nude. Pink Pigeon: It has a soft sheen for the first hour or so, then dries down and looks like a soft matte later on. Pink Pigeon feels very smooth and applies easily without ANY dryness whatsoever. Color payoff is just as bright on the lips as it is in the tube, but to me, it looks slightly cooler toned once applied. You can also try Magenta or Heroine to add a darker, more purple tone for a fun ombre look.

Beet also works and will warm up this color and add some contrast. Candy Yum-Yum is brighter and lighter. Fusion Pink is similar, but slightly warmer and has more shine since it has an Amplified finish. Please Me: The texture feels creamy and applies easily without any tugging or dryness. Each of these lipsticks hold a special place in my heart and in my makeup bag. I almost always go back to them and will repurchase each of them if I run out.

And while I don't usually like to spend a lot on cosmetics, I like to think my MAC lipstick purchases are well worth the price.
