As this printer is made with almost the same hardware as the LBP which is supported by the driver , it turned out to be quite an easy task to support it. So here's how -- note that these instructions are for OS X Obtain latest Universal Canon Driver from the Canon Japan site and install it -- this will require a reboot. Download the patched file archive Open the downloaded file archive, you will find the two mentioned files captmoncnab3 and CnAC28B9. You must replace the existing files. Then reboot. Uninstall current printer if possible also the driver and reboot.

The Finder will ask you for a folder. The Finder will show you the contents of the folder.

You should find there a file called captmoncnab3. You must replace an existing file. If you are not replacing an existing file then you are not patching it correctly. You need to give the Administrator password because it is a system file. You should find there a file called CnAC28B9.
