My grandson is deathly allergic to nuts and this would be one I could serve to him.

It will be a regular!! Thank you!! Made this for dinner tonight! And very quick and easy to make. I put it over a mix of pasta spiral shape catches the sauce nicely and steamed veggies broccolini, asparagus, and pattypan squash. This looks great! Do you have any suggestions on the best kind of nutritional yeast, or the cheesiest tasting? I was at a restaurant recently and we were served the most delicious nutritional yeast ever — so much better than anything my parents or I have found.

Hi everyone, I have tried the nutritional yeast many times. And I get feeling so sick after I have some. I can eat the other things in the mix but I think the yeast is the one that is making me feel sick. Any ideas as to what I can use instead?

I want to eat this healthier way, I just can do the nutritional yeast. Instead, I used some organic Wisconsin sharp cheddar from Whole Foods. I also forgot to put the lemon juice in, and I did add a bit more salt. Ive never heard of nutritional yeast befire though. Is it different from the packets of yeast you can get to make dough?

Trying your avacado truffle recipe this afternoon! Seriously, we made this exactly as the recipe is written and it did not taste like cheese in any way. What did we do wrong? Hello, I have troube posting your recipes on facebook. Is there a reason for that that you know of? I made this first as instructed but found that it had an odd taste and after taste.

I realized it was the almond milk so I eliminated the almond milk, increased the lemon juice small whole lemon and salt, added chopped half onion and three minced cloves of garlic instead of onion powder and a teaspoon of yellow mustard. For some heat, I added a lot of cayenne pepper and black pepper. I combined all ingredients over low heat then mixed it with spaghetti squash, roasted cauliflower and sauteed mushrooms in a rectangle casserole dish. Sprinkled more nutritional yeast on top. Baked at degrees for 20 minutes. Thank you for this recipe. I could never have made my own version had it not been for your recipe.

HEY I Just made this with butternut squash instead, turned amazing! I feel bad having to write a not so great review, after reading all the amazing ones. I did substitute unsweetened hemp milk, rather than almond. My partner and I were so excited to try this, but it was not tolerable for either one of us.

I have a gluten allergy, so maybe it was the GF pasta that I used?? I have tried other recipes from your site that are amazing, by the way. Any insight is graciously accepted. Thanks so much! Did you like the flavor of the ingredients you used?

The first thing I would do is taste each ingredient individually like the hemp milk and GF pasta to make sure you like their flavor before using them. Can you make this without the nutritional yeast? Hello Megan! Both were very good, although, the yeast gave it a cheesier flavor. My problem is that after baking it, it loses its creaminess and becomes dry.

Any suggestions??? This is the first time I have made cashew butter or used nutritional yeast. I am not a vegan or anything just trying to eat healthier. This dish was very yummy!

I included mushrooms sauteed in coconut oil. I also used Orzo instead of shells. It worked out nice! Thank you! Well hello. Maybe i did something wrong because it tasted very lemony and not cheesey. Or maybe this is a dish that is for people who are accustomed to vegan dishes already. I do love your website though!! Thanks Megan!!!!! I came across this recipe awhile ago and have been trying to find a good time to make it ever since. My add-ins were sauteed mushrooms, steamed broccoli, and steamed peas.

I kept going back for more. Good thing I have plenty of leftovers. Great recipe! Just made this the bowl sits next to me as I type. Holy Toledo! I soaked my cashews overnight. My 19 yr. Will be making this sauce again definitely! Will try the raw cheesecake recipe next.

Thank you so much x. This was amazing! My go-to comfort meal is mac n cheese and chili cheese dogs. Not exactly the healthiest meal! This was delicious. I had a hard time getting the cheesy sauce to the right thickness so I had to add about a half cup more of the cashews, which ups the recipes fat and caloric value, but not by a whole lot and it was worth it. I personally prefer Dijon mustard over yellow, but it almost came out a little too mustard-y so I think next time I will cut back a little on the mustard and up the nutritional yeast for a more cheesy flavor.

The husband is gone for the next few days on business and this will definitely be my dinner for the next few days! We added some extra cayenne because I love a good kick in the taste buds: This is an amazing recipe! I have been veggie for over 10 yrs and scared to try vegan mac and cheese — I am sorry I have waited so long.

I put peas, onion, garlic, peppers, and a couple veggie burgers to give it extra protein. Rice noodles have gotten much better over the years, too. I am making this again and have been raving about it to other friends. This was very good. A cheesey taste. I even used half the mustard and it tasted good. Can always add the rest. Excellent suggestion for the add-ins; I used mushrooms and spinach as that is what I had.

So good! Is it for taste or for nutritional value?? I added roasted broccoli and spinach. I loved it. I am a new vegan and giving up mac and cheese was for sure the hardest thing for me. I am not easy to please. I am picky, and I am especially picky when it comes to my mac and cheese. This is so good. I promise, everyone should try this, vegan or not. I finally got around to making this and my family LOVED it and all said it was so delicious and asked for seconds!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be making it again SOON!! My one tip though is to reduce the baking time to about min…just enough for it to be hot. I just made this for dinner and it is so good!!! I used dijon mustard not yellow…And it is amazing. The only change is I will cook it a little less next time to keep more of the creamy texture. I plan to make this often!!! Thank you so much!! Thank GOD I looked online if nutritional yeast was different than active dry yeast, that would have not been pretty.
