The mouse does not move, nothing happens. Any suggestions? Thank you for the guide!

After completing all the steps i have the following strange thing. I have tried in 2 different usb drives. Any ideas? Same thing here. Is there a solution to having the system recognize the USB as bootable after completing the above steps? I had a bunch of permissions problems trying to alter the plist, but they were easily fixed by copying Boot Camp Assistant to the desktop, altering the one on the desktop, re-signing it with the Terminal command mentioned above, then running it from the desktop. Thanks for the article and tip!

I followed these instructions for my macbook 5,1 to make a bootable USB of windows 7.

What you need

I don't have my superdrive in my macbook so I'm trying to install windows 7 using bootcamp and the USB stick. When I restart and hold the alt key, my bootable USB for windows 7 never appears. On my Macbook Pro 15" Mid with Sierra I'm on macOS I have a MacBookPro8,2 Early , and it lets me create the installer fine, its just not being recognized as bootable.

I can get the drive made, but nothing is seeing it as bootable. Did you find a way to fix this?

There are also manual instructions here. I don't know of any way of making a windows-bootable drive natively in Mac OS X. I've recently been through this. In the end I managed a hack using a trial version of Parallels Desktop - instructions here.
