This is preferable to buying a knock-off controller if you want to use a controller similar to the original, as the original controllers -- if you have one, or can find one used -- are better in quality and feel, and for me satisfy that nostalgiac element.

The adapter is simple, well-made and durable. Drivers will install automatically if you're using windows. The only slight annoyance is that the inputs aren't labelled one and two, or first and second. Really not an issue though. Overall great product. The adapter works great and is easy to calibrate, for one of the ports. The second port does not function properly. It does not allow for a button to be held for any duration and is completely unusable due to the analog stick not working.

I tried many ways of fixing this, but yielded no positive results. Hopefully, I just bought a less than optimal product. If you are wanting multiplayer, look elsewhere.

I bought this for future use with the arcade cabinet I'm building, but wanted to finish getting the software side finished first, which included getting the controls setup finished. I purchased a USB N64 controller, but the stick was extremely stiff and clicked hard when I moved it to the right, so I bought this to replace it.

When I plugged it in, it showed up as 2 USB Control Pads, a quick edit to the registry entry for it and it worked almost instantly with Retroarch, only had to remap two buttons!
